IDAAN seeks to make improvements to water treatment plants in areas of population growth: Ducruet

“The Howard water treatment plant is going to be built, the Mendoza water treatment plant is going to be expanded, and in the end, in the entire West Panama area, we are going to have twice the capacity in 24 to 36 months,” he concluded.

The director of the National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN), Juan Antonio Ducruet, explained this morning on Radio Panama the project for the construction of the drinking water supply system in Pedernal, Chilibre.

“A debt of many years that came from the Martinelli administration and had to be put out to tender again, has finally been awarded and is now going through the endorsement process so that in a month or month and a half the order to proceed will be delivered,” he said.

He added that it is expected that in 24 months this response will be delivered to the community, which is one of those affected near the Chilibre water treatment plant.

Faced with the climatic situations that affect our country and that directly affect the population’s access to drinking water, Ducruet said that they are seeking to make improvements to the water treatment plants, especially in areas such as West Panama, where population growth has increased significantly. .

“The Howard water treatment plant is going to be built, the Mendoza water treatment plant is going to be expanded, where the ACP is going to help us, and in the end, in the entire West Panama area, we are going to have twice the capacity in about 24 to 36 months,” he concluded. .
