From December 5 to December 27, 2024, the national call for the Fund for Population Victims of the Conflict will be open. a program that seeks to guarantee access to higher education for Colombians affected by the armed conflict.

This initiative grants 100% forgivable educational loans and has benefited more than 9,000 people since its creation in 2013. “The Fund represents decisive inter-institutional support that allows young people and adults affected by the conflict to access education for peace in their territories.“, stated Patricia Abadía Murillo, president (e) of Icetex, during the announcement of the call.
Administered by this entity, with resources from the Ministry of National Education and the support of the Victims Unity Fund, The program offers a key opportunity for the resilience of victims and the development of their communities.

The Fund covers undergraduate studies at technical, professional, technological or university levels, and allows applications from any academic semester. The program finances for each semester up to 11 current legal minimum wages (SMMLV) for tuition and 1.5 SMMLV for support.
The final benefit is total forgiveness of the credit, which is granted upon meeting three fundamental requirements: graduate from the funded program, participate in the support program for victims and make the formal request for forgiveness as stipulated in the regulations.

The call is aimed at people recognized as victims of the armed conflicteither because they are registered in the Single Registry of Victims (RUV) or have been declared as such by rulings from Justice and Peace, Land Restitution, the Special Jurisdiction for Peace or the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
It is essential that applicants begin studies in the academic period corresponding to the second semester of 2024 (2024-2) and It will also be open to people from all regions of the country, including the Capital District..
