They gave a date for the delivery of peace and safe.
News Colombia.
The Ministry of Education reported that 1,192 young people with outstanding debts in Icetex will receive peace and safety after their obligations were totally or partially forgiven. The decision seeks to provide financial relief to those who, for years, carried economic burdens that affected their personal and professional stability. With this measure, the Government reaffirms its objective of eliminating barriers that hinder access and continuity in higher education.

According to the educational portfolio, the forgiveness responds to the need to prevent student debt from becoming a permanent obstacle for thousands of young people who have opted for vocational training as a route to progress. Many beneficiaries faced situations of unemployment, informality or insufficient income that made it impossible to catch up. Economic relief is intended to give them peace of mind and allow them to move forward without suffocating financial pressures.
This Tuesday, December 2, the peace and blessings will be handed over in an event that will take place in the Auditorium of the Ministry of Education.

The administration has indicated that the educational financing system requires fundamental adjustments to make it more fair and sustainable. The forgiveness granted to these 1,192 beneficiaries represents concrete progress within this transformation, differentiating itself from previous models that prioritized the strict recovery of the portfolio. The intention is that education does not become a prolonged debt, but rather a tool that promotes social development.
For those who will receive the peace, the forgiveness opens the door to reorganize their personal economy. Some will be able to resume their studies, start work projects or become entrepreneurs, while others will have the possibility of stabilizing their family finances. Eliminating debt also represents an important emotional respite, especially for those who were assuming payments that were difficult to meet.
The forgiveness granted by Icetex not only offers immediate relief, but also reinforces the commitment to building a more equitable, supportive educational system aimed at enabling the country’s young people to develop without financial burdens that limit their future.
What entity has the Icetex portfolio?
ICETEX is the main entity that manages its own portfolio, but for the collection and management of overdue portfolios, it has established agreements with external entities such as Central de Inversiones SA (CISA). In addition, payments can be made through banks such as Banco Agrario, Banco Caja Social, Bancolombia and others, as well as at points such as Baloto and banking correspondents.
