Ice says that Luis Cold did not die, but he was fainted

The Customs Immigration and Control Service (ICE) denied the information issued by relatives of the Venezuelan migrant Luis Manuel Rivas Velásquez, known as Luis Cold, after being held and receiving “cruel treatment” at the Aligator Alligator Alcatraz detention center, in Florida, opened by President Donald Trump to imprison undocumented.

The agency confirmed that the man is alive and under medical observation, after fainting in the facilities. His relatives denounced that he was sick, with the body “full of sores”, with a fever and that he asked for medical assistance that never arrived on time.

In addition, his partner Rosana Navas, said they only gave him one meal a day, and narrated the suffering of her husband in the enclosure, although she later recorded a video by denialing the information and offering apologies.

The spokeswoman of the National Security Department, Tricia McLaughlin, detailed in a statement that Rivas Velásquez was transferred to the hospital by caution after suffering a fainting. The text never explains the reasons of fainting, nor the health conditions of the retained.

Crossing information

The publication of the video of Rosana Navas, denouncing the death of her husband, gave rise to the claim of the retained sister, Aday Velázquez, who claimed justice in the dramatic situation. Both said they were informed by relatives of other detainees about the death of Rivas.

After the pronouncement of the ICE authorities, the relatives retracted from the complaint about the death of the Venezuelan, but demand explanations about the abuse he was receiving.

Aday Velázquez, sister of the retained, said that no American agency has confirmed the death of Rivas, and confirmed that the news of his alleged death, was given by people who visited the enclosure and saw him suffer from various difficulties.

“My brother and another person left the Alcatraz prison last night, but they have not returned,” he said in a later video, in which he demands that the State department offer information about the whereabouts and health conditions of his brother.

“We want to know if it is well healthy or if you are dead, we want your body,” said Velázquez in the face of uncertainty for not knowing anything about Venezuelan migrant.

Rosana Navas, Rivas’s wife, also expressed concern about not knowing anything about her husband’s whereabouts once she left the enclosure. In the midst of his shock, he asked for a test of life and that the speculations are stopped: “Do not play with this,” he said.
