The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) released today (26) the nominal monthly household income per capita and the Regional Imbalance Coefficients (CDR) for 2021. The values refer to Brazil and the North, Northeast and Midwest regions . Data are calculated based on data from the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (Pnad).
For Brazil, the nominal monthly household income per capita was calculated at R$ 1,367 in 2021. In the Midwest, it was R$ 1,557, with a CDR equal to 1. The Northeast had an income of R$ 839 last year and CDR of 0.61. For the North Region, the income was R$ 878 and the CDR was calculated at 0.64.
According to the IBGE, the coefficients are calculated based on regional income values compared to the national average. The income from work and other sources actually received in the reference month of the survey is considered.
The disclosure of the CDR complies with Decree 9,291/2018, which provides for the application of the amount in the calculation of financial charges levied on credit operations with resources from the Fundo de Financiamento do Nordeste (FNE), Fundo de Financiamento do Norte (FNO) and from the Midwest Financing Fund (FCO).
