IBGE: construction cost rises 1.21% in April

The National Civil Construction Index (Sinapi), measured by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), registered inflation of 1.21% in April this year. The rate is higher than the 0.99% in March, but lower than the 1.87% in April last year.IBGE: construction cost rises 1.21% in April

This is the highest monthly inflation rate since August 2021. With the April result, Sinapi accumulates price increases of 3.52% in the year and 15% in 12 months.

The national cost of construction changed to R$ 1,567.76 per square meter in April. Construction materials had an inflation of 1.86% in the month and started to cost R$ 944.49 per square meter. The cost of labor, on the other hand, rose 0.24% and stood at R$ 623.27.
