The Spanish airline Iberiaof the IAG group, will increase its capacity in virtually all markets for the season that begins on March 30 and ends at the end of October, and will offer “seat record”, highlighting a 4 % increase in its Latin American routes.
With more than 300 weekly flights, the company will have in 2025 the highest connectivity of its history with Latin America, with 3.2 million seats, which exceeds figures last year, Iberia reported on Thursday in a statement.
Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo will experience the greatest increase in weekly frequencies, adding in both cases three flights a week. The Argentine capital will have 21 weekly frequencies (three daily flights), while the Brazilian city will rise up to 14 weekly frequencies (two per day).
Lima will also add an additional frequency (up to two daily). Mexico and Bogotá will keep the triple daily flight, while Montevideo and Quito will make their own with their daily flight.
Santiago de Chile will have up to eleven weekly flights, while Rio de Janeiro will maintain the five frequencies a week, Caracas will have between three and five – depending on the month – and Guayaquil, three.
In Central America and the Caribbean the offer will remain similar to 2024: in Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo, Costa Rica, Guatemala and El Salvador with a daily flight, while Panama will have up to four a week, and Havana, three.
In addition, Iberia will operate 140 weekly flights to the United States, 14 % more than last year, and put 1.1 million seats on the market.
