The airlines Iberia and Plus Ultra extended, until January 31, 2026, the suspension of their flights between Madrid and Caracas on the recommendation of the Aviation Safety Agency (AESA), according to sources from both companies consulted this Tuesday, December 23 by EFE.
The Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) extended until January 31 its recommendation not to fly to the Caracas area and the southern Caribbean, warnings that are channeled to operators by the air navigation manager, Enaire.
Iberia offers affected customers the possibility of changing their flights to another date, to another nearby destination or request a refund of the ticket amount.
The company’s intention is to resume flights to Venezuela as soon as full security guarantees are recovered, the sources add.
Plus Ultra also confirmed its intention to extend the suspension at least until January 31.
This airline is offering its customers connections between Madrid and Cartagena de Indias, in Colombia, and then linking with Caracas on the Laser airline.
Air Europa also announced the extension of the suspension of its flights to and from Caracas until at least January 18.
