the assembly of IAVA Student Guild (GEI) decided on Monday afternoon and unanimously re-enter the guildhall that was evicted by High School in the last hours.
The members they put back the belongings that were removed over the weekend, a situation they encountered this Monday when they returned to class. In addition, the union will make a 24-hour strike next Tuesday.
“We open the door without breaking anything what I had placed there and we put our furniture and belongings back into the room,” GEI spokeswoman Valentina Heijoo told The Observer.

After opening the doors that were blocked, they put back a cabinet with paintings, posters and banners, as well as an armchair, the spokeswoman said.
“The authorities have already made their position clear, We do not believe that they will return the room to us (but) there is no room available where there are no classes that they can give us for our space (so) we don’t know if we are going to have a room or not,” Heijoo commented.

In addition to the strike next Tuesday, the GEI joins the strike and mobilization of ADES in support of the summary director of his high school next Wednesday.
The Association of Secondary Education Teachers of Montevideo (ADES) will carry out a morning shift strike next Wednesday, June 14 in support of the director of the Lyceum VAT Leonardo Ruidíaz, who will testify at the Secondary legal headquarters for the alleged insubordination to the General Directorate of Secondary Education.
