I would? man works being hired to do nothing

Shōji Morimoto is a 39-year-old Japanese man who lives and eats thanks to his particular job: being rented by people to spend time with them.

Despite being a physics professional with a focus on earthquakes, Morimoto decided to start this curious venture in 2018 and, since then, he has not stopped receiving thousands of requests on his social networks.

(Seychelles: the islands where 10% of people are addicted to heroin).

Basically, I rent. My job is to be where my clients want me and not do anything in particular.”, explained Morimoto for ‘Reuters’. Individuals must pay a base fee of 75 dollars, In addition to covering transportation and food separately.

Morimoto started this business through Twitter and, from there, it has not stopped growing and has not stopped generating income. He currently has more than 415,000 followers on said social network, as well as 580,000 on Instagram.

(Colombia is the country where you get up early, but not the most productive).

The man told several examples of how his work works. On one occasion he was hired to fire a person who took the night bus to return to his hometown. In another case, he was hired to accompany his clients to play on the swing.

(The benefits for local businesses with Google tools).

However, doing nothing for him is not synonymous with accepting everything. For example, he has turned down offers to travel to other countries, while not accepting offers of a sexual nature: “The reason why people demand my services depends on the client’s circumstances. I think it all comes down to needing the presence of the human being in a given situation”, he added.

(Artificial intelligence is capable of creating a radio station without humans).

Morimoto also mentioned that “So far, clients seem to experience a positive mental shift after renting from me. They tell me that it is liberating to be able to talk to someone about things that they are not capable of saying to others”.

This job, despite the particular nature of the job and how dependent it is on demand, has allowed the physicist to financially support his wife and two children. His story even served as inspiration for the creation of a series called ‘People Who Do Not Rent’, produced and broadcast by TV Tokyo.
