Barcelona winger Ferran Torres confessed on Tuesday that he had consulted a psychologist to help him get out of a “bottomless pit” into which he had the feeling of having sunk.

After a disappointing end to the season with Barça in 2021-2022, Torres suffered a foot injury during pre-season, his efforts to earn a place in Xavi’s starting eleven were nullified, and he became the third choice in his position, behind Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé and newcomer Raphinha.
“It was at that moment when I decided to work with a psychologist. I had no confidence in myself, everything affected me. It was a very hard experience, very bitter, but also one of the best moments, because now I feel stronger”, the 22-year-old confessed.
Called up with the Spanish team at the World Cup in Qatar, Torres recovered his form at the start of 2023, and took advantage of Dembélé’s injury to play several minutes. On Sunday, during the 2-0 victory against Cádiz on matchday 22 of the League, he was voted man of the match.
“I was too obsessed with the goal and the fact of not playing. Before, he only thought about scoring, even if he didn’t play well. Today, I have learned to enter the field to enjoyand from there, things happen as they have to happen”, added Torres.
“Now there are weeks in which I do not go to the psychologist. others in which I go three times in a week ”, confessed the player. “We don’t always talk about football, we also talk about my private life,” the winger concluded.
