Sotelo is accused of murdering the son of the inspector general of the National Police, General William Rincón.
RCN News exclusively revealed a video of the testimony of Andrés Camilo Sotelo, who has been in the custody of the Police authorities since the day the murder of Juan Felipe Rincón occurred in the city of Bogotá.
In the video, recorded at the El Tunal hospital, where he is recovering from his injuries, He apologizes to the victim’s parents and affirms that he did not shoot him.
“That day was very confusing, it was something that got out of hand. However, that day I was not carrying a firearm, I was not carrying a lethal weapon. He was carrying a weapon known as a non-lethal compressed air ‘co2’,” said.
The captured young man also sent a message to Juan Felipe Rincón’s parents. “Also in advance I want to apologize to Juan Felipe’s family because, although I did not end his life, I know that what happened that day was not correct or the best way to react,” he said.
In the video he reiterated that he did not have a lethal weapon. “That day the only weapon that was fired was the bodyguard’s, “He was the one who shot and ended Juan Felipe’s life,” he said.
According to Noticias RCN, taking this information into account, Sotelo’s lawyer, Saúl León, asks that his client be released. ““A judge will decide whether to issue a security measure in a prison.”he stressed.

RCN News also exclusively revealed a new video that is in the possession of the authorities and that is part of the investigations to try to clarify the death of the young Juan Felipe Rincón, son of the inspector general of the National Police.
