Keiko Fujimori He continues to unravel daisies about his participation in the electoral contest of April 12, 2026, and likewise the support for his eventual candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic seems to be fading, although 6 months before the elections, nothing is decided.
At this point in the electoral process, the leader of Fuerza Popular has fallen from second to third place – she registers 6% of the voting intention -, below the resigning mayor of Lima Rafael Lopez Aliagawho remains in the lead with 10%, and the brother of the disqualified former president Martín Vizcarra, Mario, who has risen from 7% to 8% in the last month.
This is revealed by the latest national urban rural survey, carried out by Ipsos for Peru21 on October 9 and 10, which also reflects that the group of blank, flawed and undecided votes has risen from 37% to 39%.
As happened in September, this time there are also slight movements in support for some potential candidates. Carlos Álvarez continues in fourth place, but rising from 4% to 5%, behind him is César Acuña with 3% who last Monday resigned from the position of regional governor of La Libertad, thus confirming his candidacy in the 2026 elections for his Alliance for Progress party.
In the breakdown of figures, it should be noted, it is noted that support for López Aliaga continues to be concentrated in Lima (21%), in the interior it only registers 4%. The situation is reversed in the case of Mario Vizcarra, who receives more support in the interior (10%) than in Lima where he barely receives 5%. Keiko Fujimori, meanwhile, has 9% support in Lima, a percentage that falls to 5% in the interior of the country.
Defoliating daisies
Those surveyed by Ipsos, on the other hand, also respond if they have voted for Fujimorism in any electoral process, to which 34% respond affirmatively. It is that electoral base that is asked what their first option would be to run for the presidential seat if Keiko Fujimori finally gives up running.
18% lean towards the president in charge of the Congress of the Republic; In second place is the general secretary of the group Luis Galarreta with 8% and in third place is the former congressman Miki Torres with 7%. Another 67% do not specify.
