"I hope it’s the start of something important"said the Ecuadorian coach

The coach of Ecuador, the Argentine Gustavo Alfaro, was happy this Sunday by beating Qatar 2-0 in the opening game of the World Cup, hoping that “it is the start of something important”.

“I am happy with the players for the attitude, for the form, for the search”, said Alfaro after the match played at the Al Bayt stadium in Al Khor.

“We supply a psychic blow, if you willwhen our goal was disallowed offside, however, we kept looking, I think we won very clearly, very forcefully and hopefully it will be the start of something important, which is what we want”, added the Ecuador coach.

“It was the most important game of the World Cup”, assured Alfaro, for whom “this team is beyond any streak, beyond anything, it has a great commitment and that is what allowed us to achieve this victory”
