"I don't turn around anyone and I have my own flashlight"

“I don’t turn around anyone and I have my own flashlight”

Euclides Acevedo, pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic, flatly denied being a satellite of the Colorado Party.

“A satellite revolves around something, and it has no light of its own. I do not turn around anyone and I have a good flashlight, ”she sentenced.

In relation to his lack of adherence to the Coalition, Acevedo emphasized that the opposition bloc was formed based on a political concept that promotes an “exclusive model.”

“In order for there to be an agreement, there must be a program, which must be properly discussed. It should not be an agglutination of the political will to win elections, nothing more. The Concertación is a style that seems exclusive to me and not entirely democratic”, she maintained.

For this reason, he indicated that although he will compete in parallel with the opposition bloc, at some point he could “coincide” with the Coalition.

“With all the respect I have for the Liberal Party, this (the Concertación) seems to me to be a very skillful move by its president who, in the company of Ferreiro, converted the internal Liberal party into this legal group. I’m not against it, I’m going to go in parallel. In politics, sooner or later, ‘roñontendantante voi’”, he declared.

PROPOSAL
Unlike the opposition bloc, the pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic assured that he wants to establish a pact of national unity, which is not political, but economic, social, cultural and environmental.

“I speak of a de facto agreement. Not one that is subject to legal and administrative provisions. The agreement will be settled with the national register,
Regardless of whether it is open to all. I don’t think the new members are going to vote massively. The Colorados are going to be focused on the bid on December 18, ”he stressed.

FIGHT AGAINST
THE INSECURITY
Euclides Acevedo maintained that Paraguay is not in love with misfortune and that it does not rise up against precarious conditions.

“The Paraguayan people do not submit to misfortune, not knowing what to eat or what awaits them tomorrow. This is a meek people, but not docile”, he expressed.

In this sense, he lamented that the current political class is “myopic and opaque” and does not know how to analyze the national reality with sociological rigor.

“The State is kidnapped by politicians, businessmen, the de facto powers and in particular by organized crime, less so by society. Society is not part of the decisions,” he declared.

Along these same lines, the pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic affirmed that his central proposal revolves around security due to the vulnerable conditions in which the State finds itself.

“The state is infected. Disinfection supposes a blunt surgical measure and that also means an international agreement that has immeasurable connections”, he advanced.

Acevedo commented that he wants Paraguayans to be “happy”, having the certainty of a better future.

“To be happy is to have the certainty of the future, in a secure job and a decent salary,” he concluded.
