I do not believe in foreign invasions, says Ramos Allup on US ships in the Caribbean

In reference to the military enlistment by Nicolás Maduro, Henry Ramos Allup assured that 80 % of Venezuelans do not support Chavism and it is difficult for them to join “going out to kill me for someone whom I do not support”


The Secretary General of Democratic Action, Henry Ramos Allup, referred this Saturday 13 to the military presence of the United States in the Caribbean and pointed out that “I do not believe in foreign invasions”, while alluding that Donald Trump’s administration has only talked about anti -narcotics operations.

“I do not believe in foreign invasions because the United States himself has said that his presence in the South Caribbean is to combat drug trafficking, and Venezuelan government itself has said here inside that you have to combat drug trafficking. I do not see antinomy,” Ramos Allup said during the celebration of the 84th anniversary of the “White Party.”

He said that as he “seems very good” the deployment of Venezuelan troops on the border to combat drug trafficking, “it also seems very good that in international waters some organizations, some countries, fight drug trafficking.”

“What tells me reality is something else, that there is a great discontent and that does not generate solidarity in favor of anyone,” he continued.

In reference to the military enlistment ordered by Nicolás Maduro, the leader Adeco said that there are “two different things” the defense of the country that a support for the official. He assured that 80 % of Venezuelans do not support Chavismo and it is difficult for them to join to “go out to kill me for someone who does not support.”

«We do not want wars, we do not want murders, we do not want prisoners, we do not want invasions, we do not want sanctions, we do not want anything. What we want is peace. Now, how do you build peace when there is one of the parts that is committed to not achieving peace? ”He questioned.

He indicated that they will continue to insist on a negotiated exit to the political crisis, despite the refusal of Nicolás Maduro to dialogue with the opposition sector where Ramos Allup’s Ad ad is registered, “because peace is not going to be imposed.”

Regarding the situation of the party, he said that “the beneficiaries of judicialization cannot do an act like this because they do not have people,” and stressed that they will maintain their struggle to reinsert the country in democracy “where there are no political prisoners, where the parties are not judicial, where popular expression is fully respected.”
