Former President Dina Boluarte, recently vacated by the Congress of the Republic, received a group of supporters this Sunday afternoon.
From outside her house, the president thanked the gesture and told what she has been doing these days since leaving the Government Palace.
“Friends, brothers, thank you for this solidarity in front of my home. I am resting these days because since December 7, 2022 I dedicated myself to the country with soul, life and heart without any rest,” he said.
“We are leaving a different country than the one we received. We have worked within the constitutional framework, within the legal framework and strengthening our democracy and our rule of law,” he said.
DINA SENT A MESSAGE TO JOSÉ JERÍ
At another time, he was encouraged to send a message to his successor, José Jerí, and even asked him to continue betting on growth above personal or political interests.
“In democracy, decisions are accepted, we are not owners of positions. I wish President Jerí every success. I hope he continues to bet on the development and growth of the country. That is what should interest all Peruvians above personal or political interests,” he added.
“We will continue, from where I am, working for that view that I have of the country, an inclusive, developing, prosperous and proud country in the world,” he said.
Boluarte received flowers and appeared calm after the visit of her followers who shouted phrases like: “Dina reelection”, before the incredulous gaze of passersby.
