“I feel that I am alive for God and for the Virgin”Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner said this Thursday in her first public appearance after the attempted assassination of which she was a victim on September 1.
The former president spoke in the Provinces Hall of the Chamber of Senators, where an emotional meeting was held with villero priests, Priests in Option for the Poor and Sisters, religious and lay.
The Vice President commented that “If I had to thank God and the Virgin, I had to do it surrounded by priests for the poor, villero priests, lay and religious sisters”.
“Pray for me I need it”he added in his first public message after the assassination attempt on September 1, when the now detained Fernando Sabag Montiel tried to shoot near his head with a weapon while the Vice President greeted militants in front of his apartment in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Recoleta .
A few days ago, the former head of state had tweeted an image with a publication from the Clarín newspaper entitled “The bullet that did not come out and the ruling that did come out”, questioning the content of that article.

Along with the Vice President were some members of the Frente de Todos interbloc from the upper house, such as Oscar Parrilli from Neuquén, María Teresa González from Formosa, Edgardo Kueider from Entre Ríos, Carlos Linares from Chubut, Matías Rodríguez from Fuegian, Martín Doñate from Rio Negro and Adolfo Rodríguez Saá from San Luis.
