Angélica Leticia García Reyes is an entrepreneur who injects energy and life into the community in which she resides

Angélica Leticia García Reyes has her own light to shine and in the geographical space in which she operates she does not require an introduction. She has been sowing and has managed to harvest enough fruits.
She is an entrepreneur who brings life to the community where she lives, in Montecristi, in the north of the Dominican Republic. With effort and passion, she has shown that if you pursue your goal, you can achieve it.

She began her productive activity in an improvised space inside her husband’s premises. There, in the middle of a small corner, she began selling juices, accessories, perfumes and creams. Her goal was always clear: to generate income and contribute to the well-being of her family. “Everything you set out to do, you achieve,” she says. And she states it with the firmness of the irrefutable. But she was not always so motivated; she has had to overcome obstacles and rise above adversity. Her life took a significant turn when she received an invitation to participate in a meeting of the Mujeres SuperEmprendedoras project, part of the Supérate program. Curiosity led her to attend, and she soon discovered that this opportunity would be crucial for her personal and professional development.

A push, a light on the path

The program, designed to empower women and encourage entrepreneurship, gave her a new perspective on how to manage her business and improve her life in general.

Leticia highlights how the program’s support has been vital to her growth. “It was worth it that Supérate, through its Mujeres SuperEmprendedoras project, supported us and organized this workshop and the entire group, because it changed me in all aspects: my business, my family, my way of being and daily development. I thank them for taking us into account and giving us all this knowledge to grow,” she says with a satisfied smile.

The impact of the program on Leticia was profound. The training not only improved her business skills, but also helped her expand her social circle and increase her sales. Before, her network of contacts was limited, but thanks to the teachings she received, she was able to connect with more people and expand her business opportunities. “From the first moment, my mentality changed so much that I added various merchandise to my small business and attended with enthusiasm, spirit and strength, even though I was pregnant at the time,” she recalls.

Each workshop and talk offered by the program left a lasting impression on Leticia. One of the most impactful was the one titled “Getting to Know Myself,” which allowed her to explore and improve her self-esteem. In the early days of her venture, her confidence was rock bottom, but the workshop gave her the tools to boost her self-image and face challenges with renewed strength.

The training also had a noticeable impact on her family life. Leticia says that after applying the knowledge she acquired, both her relationship with her husband and her children improved significantly.

“After the workshops, my economic and personal life changed completely, because before I sold little things and charged less, but now I can take care of myself better and as for my family life, with my husband and children, it improved 100 percent, because I put what I learned into practice,” she says, visibly happy.

The Mujeres SuperEmprendedoras program has not only provided technical knowledge, but has also been a source of inspiration for many women like Leticia. The support received has been fundamental in overcoming obstacles and moving forward with their projects. Leticia encourages any woman who has the opportunity to participate in the project not to hesitate.

“The change is total, and if I had the chance again, I would do it all again,” he says firmly.
