Two years after the health emergency, organizations are more willing to adopt the hybrid work, a work modality that combines face-to-face with remote work. This is demonstrated by a survey carried out by Telefónica Hispam, where 7 out of 10 companies stated that they would bet on hybrid work in 2022.
This scenario, although it has great benefits due to its flexibility, also presents new challenges to maintain and/or improve the productivity of companies in a work context that no longer refers to a single physical space. In this context, technology will be key as an enabler for hybrid work to work for the benefit of companies and their employees, according to a global study by Adecco Group.
“Collaborative work digital solutions such as cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and other productivity platforms are essential to guarantee productivity levels in organizations,” said Betsy Arana, Marketing Manager at Movistar Empresas.
Along these lines, Movistar Empresas shares five recommendations so that employee productivity is enhanced by hybrid work:
- Corporate and digital training: Companies must adopt technology through people, so that the digital transformation is human, valuing its employees and the knowledge that they are going to use in the process of learning hybrid digital skills.
- Team Rules: Set milestones and deadlines instead of working hours. Let your employees be more flexible in their schedules. This will help in the balance you have between your work and personal life and will increase your productivity.
- Trust and visibility: Managers need to keep their teams motivated and confident that they will meet expectations. Also, prevent them from feeling that they and their results do not have the same visibility as in face-to-face work and, therefore, that they are “easily replaceable”.
- Digital infrastructure: The devices must be protected and managed by the company’s IT area so that they can reduce the risk of phishing or malicious messages. Here, it is necessary to create new security policies for the company’s workers, suppliers and customers.
- Measurement and evaluation: The hybrid model will bring new productivity measurement standards, helping to determine the conditions and limitations of the work team. Allowing to create long and short term solutions in work performance.
“The expectation is that during 2022 the acceleration of the digital transformation of companies will continue, with a special focus on the challenges presented by hybrid work. At Movistar Empresas, we accompany companies in this process, offering them tools and solutions so that the adaptation path for organizations and employees is easy and strategic”, assures Arana.
