The National Hurricane Center, at the beginning of the hurricane season for the Eastern North Pacific, reported that on average there will be about 15 named storms, 8 hurricanes and 4 major hurricanes, category 3 or higher.
The season in the Pacific starts on May 15 and runs until November 30.
Previously, at the 46th Meeting of the Hurricane Committee, held in April in Panama, the list of names for the Pacific slope was made official, in which 24 names were designated.
