The president of the National Academy of Medicine pointed out that patients suffer a “via crucis” once they manage to obtain the money and supplies to undergo a surgical intervention.
Huníades Urbina, president of the National Academy of Medicine, and director of the José María Vargas School of Medicine of the UCV, stated in an interview with VPItv that the health sector closes the year with a very significant deficit and with very poor attention due to lack of supplies in regarding quantity and availability.
In this sense, the specialist pointed out that there are a large number of patients in hospitals that increase the waiting list for care. “Especially in the surgical part, that distresses many of us because waiting time is useful life time and lost in the recovery of a patient in any of their pathologies.”
