The Sandinista commander and founder of the Army was demeaned by his own brother and sister-in-law to such an extent that it was not even the general command of the military that reported his death, nor on behalf of the current military chief. The press release is not even signed by anyone. And the presidency and the Sandinista party of which he was one of the main leaders did not immediately issue notes of mourning as they do for foreign officials who were friends of the dictatorship.

Kidnapped for warning that Murillo is incapable of controlling power after the death of Daniel Ortega

In mid-May of this year, HOS gave statements to the international media INFOBAE in which he stated that, after the eventual death of his brother Daniel Ortega, the government and the Sandinista party would be left headless, since his sister-in-law, the vice-dictator Rosario Murillo Nor would their children have the capacity to control power.

In the same interview, the retired general confirmed that the Nucaragua Army was complicit with the paramilitaries who massacred popular Protestants in the demonstrations and barricades in 2018. In addition, the residence was surrounded by police.

Secretly transferred to hospital

On June 9, HOS was transferred to the Military Hospital in total secrecy, however, an anonymous source leaked the information to the media Confidencial, stating that the Sandinista veteran was in poor health, in a private room of the military medical center and Completely isolated and under tight police surveillance.

“His health condition is delicate but stable and he remains under constant medical monitoring,” said the anonymous informant, and since then, neither the presidency nor the armed forces have reported on the condition of the retired Army general.

It was not until the night of this Sunday, September 29, a few hours before his death, that the Army Hospital reported that HOS was in critical condition, which already foreshadowed a fatal outcome, although for some analysts, most likely, the ex-military He could have already been deceased but they only deliberately delayed the news.

They try to detract from HOS’s history while the family asks for respect for their privacy

When addressing all information referring to the founding chief of the current Army, it was so evident that the dictators ordered that merits be detracted from his career that in the official notes, both of the Police and the Army, his military rank of army general or his rank are not mentioned. honorary degree of commander of the revolution, as he was one of the nine commanders of the so-called National Directorate of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN).

The now deceased army general is credited with having been the strategist and ideologist of the urban popular insurrection, opposing the strategy led by Tomas Borge regarding guerrilla warfare in the mountains.

Furthermore, HOS is also blamed for the idea of putting his brother Daniel at the head of the Government Board of National Reconstruction in 1979, after the fall of the dictator Anastasio Somoza, a proposal that would have been supported by the other 7 commanders of the revolution. , because supposedly Daniel was the one with the least combative merits, the least ambitious and therefore would be more manageable.
