Because of the palisade on the Murindó River, Urabá, Antioquia, which left 492 families affected, 310 of them incommunicado, will activate a humanitarian corridor to meet their health and food needs. The removal of the three kilometers of fence that obstructs the navigability of the tributary could take up to a month.

The director of the Department of Risk Management of Antioquia (Dagran), Jaime Gómez Zapata, confirmed that the humanitarian aid will be transported by air. What’s more, there will be four machines that will be distributed on each side of the palisade for cleaning and removal of the material.

Heavy rains caused a sudden increase that one of the lanes of the Medellin-Bogotá highway broke off near San Luis, in eastern Antioquia, which keeps the road closed in both lanes.

The affected section is on the Santuario-Caño Alegre road, at kilometer 65. According to the National Institute of Roads (Invías), there is still no estimated opening time, since pDue to the amount of material that fell on the sector, the work of removing soil, rocks and mud has been difficult.
