Humanitarian aid and the Army arrived in Briceño (Antioquia) to address the humanitarian crisis

The governor of Antioquia, Andrés Julián Rendón, visited the area indicating that the security situation is the fault of the Petro Government.

Regarding his visit, the official assured that the serious humanitarian situation that Briceño is experiencing is due to the business with drug traffickers and their relationship with President Gustavo Petro.

Rendón pointed out that, despite the installation of anti-personnel mines by the FARC dissidents, andNational Army troops arrived in the municipality and it is hoped that, with their support, displaced families will be able to safely return to their homes.

Furthermore, he reported that has sent two official letters to the Ministry of Defense requesting the reinforcement of security in the northern area of ​​the department. However, he warned that so far there has been no response from the National Government.

In the midst of the situation, the International Committee of the Red Cross also arrived in the municipality of Briceño, and did so with the delivery of 1050 toilet kits and humanitarian aid.

Over there, The authorities were present in the 16 affected villageswith the purpose of delivering essential items such as soap, brushes, toothpaste, deodorant, razor blades, as well as sanitary towels.

For this week, the public order situation is expected to improve in the department, especially in subregions such as the north, northeast and Bajo Cauca, where fear continues to be a special determinant for the affected populations.
