Human rights organizations will march for memory and against "judicial corporation"

Taty Almeida gave her support to the trial against the members of the Supreme Court

Mothers and Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo, Relatives of the Disappeared and other human rights organizations launched this Sunday a call to mobilize on March 24 for “Memory, Truth and Justice to defend democracy”, and added the slogan “Judicial Corporation never more”.

In dialogue with Télam, the referent of Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Founding Line, Taty Almeidaassured that “The judiciary has been transformed into a corporation made up of representatives of neoliberalism and fascism” and stated that these groups “have turned the judiciary into a mafia.”

In that sense, reinforced his support for the impeachment request for the four members of the Supreme Court of Justice, which is under debate in the Chamber of Deputies.

Likewise, Almeida blamed this “judicial corporation” for the proliferation of hate speech in society and in some sectors of the youth: “They sowed and continue to sow hate”indicated when recalling the assassination attempt on Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

“We are not like that, we are going to continue demanding justice, yes, but legal justice, never justice by our own hands,” emphasized the reference of Mothers.

In the same sense, the referent of the The HIJOS Capital group, Carlos Pisoni, considered it important to include this slogan in this year’s mobilization because currently “the judicial body has modified the mechanisms for the destruction of political opponentsas it happened with our parents in the 70s”.

And he added: “Those today do not physically disappear and kill you, but they do They destroy you politically, they outlaw you and take anyone who thinks differently off the pitch”.

The march will take place on March 24.

Pisoni indicated to this agency that, as this year expires, the 40th anniversary of the return of democracy, it is a good time to ask yourself “What democracy do we want? Because these are years where denial and hate speech are predominating in certain sectors of society and those speeches later lead, for example, to the attempted assassination of our Vice President”.

“We do not want this justice that responds to the circles of powerWe want justice that is more democratic, federal, egalitarian and with a gender perspective,” she emphasized.

The call “Memory, truth and justice to defend democracy. Judicial Corporation never again” will be held on Friday, March 24, 47 years after the beginning of the last civic-military dictatorship.

At 2:00 p.m. they will gather at the intersection of Piedras and Avenida de Mayo streets to later march to Plaza de Mayo and participate in the central act.

The call bears the signature of Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo, Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Founding Line, Relatives of the Disappeared and Detained for Political Reasons, CHILDREN Capital, Permanent Assembly for Human Rights, Permanent Assembly for Human Rights La Matanza, Buena Memoria Association, Center for Legal Studies and Social; Memory, Truth and Justice Commission North Zone; Relatives and Companions of the 12 of the Holy Cross, Argentine Historical and Social Memory Foundation, Argentine League for Human Rights, and Ecumenical Movement for Human Rights.
