A feminist leader and defender of Human Rights was attacked with acid on her face, in events that took place in the last hours in Tunja, Boyacá. The victim had reported threats against him since last year.
The complaint was made known by Kimberly Andrea Ochoa Araque, one of the spokespersons for the Boyacense Feminist Platform and legal coordinator of the La Ramona collective, who pointed out that his partner Patricia Cardozo was approached by a subject who threw the substance at her.
“At approximately 6:00 p.m., our colleague Patricia Cardozo, who works as a human rights defender, was attacked with acid in the faceOchoa said.

The victim of the attack receives medical attention at the San Rafael Hospital in Tunja, where doctors, for the moment, rule out a possible surgical intervention.
“Fortunately the medical report at this time is positive in the midst of everything. The attack affected the left hemisphere of his face, however, it does not require plastic surgery in the first place.”, added the spokesperson for the group.
The medical staff evaluates the repercussions on the mobility of Patricia Cardozo’s face.

The spokeswoman for the feminist collective also explained that Cardozo He had denounced threats against him since last year.
“Patricia reported the threats against her since 2022, which were reiterated and which were expanded in the last year. The Prosecutor’s Office was asked to carry out the investigations as soon as possible,” said the young woman.

The victim even had a security scheme approved by the National Protection Unit. Howeverto date, said scheme had not been assigned.
