Hugo Velázquez, Vice President of the Republic and presidential candidate for the ANR, met on Monday morning with Alberto Fernández, President of the Argentine Republic.
“We talked about issues of interest to both nations. The historical ties between Paraguay and Argentina will allow us to achieve a great future together”, she posted on her social networks.
The vice president also made headlines for his statements during a television interview with Mina Feliciangeli on Sunday night. In it, he expressed that his current rival, Santiago Peña, represents the corporate business sector that seeks to use the Paraguayan State to improve the conditions of his “boss” in allusion to Horacio Cartes.
“I’m not going to share the stage with Horacio Cartes, I don’t need an alliance with him, I’m going to do it with the sector of the party that we just won,” he said.
