A concert with the music of the Cuban-Dutch composer Hubert de Blanck will arrive at the Oratorio San Felipe Neri this Saturday, May 6, at 4:00 p.m.
Hubert de Blanck Symphonic will bring to the present seven unpublished works by this composer and will have the special participation of pianist Marcos Madrigal and soprano Bárbara Llanes.
According to a press release, this special project of the Havana Lyceum Orchestra includes the location, transcription, assembly, interpretation and recording of Hubert de Blanck’s handwritten scores, which are safeguarded in the funds of the National Museum of Music of Cuba.
Among the works that can be enjoyed are “La danza tropical” -a waltz for a light soprano-, “Romanza, Cachuca y Tarantella” -a suite of dances for a three-movement orchestra-, “Capricho cubano”, and the “Andante ” and “Allegro”, the latter two for piano and orchestra.
