Huawei es la segunda compañía con mayor inversión en I+D del mundo, según la UE

Huawei is the second company in global investment in R&D, as reflected in the R&D Investment Indicator Chart (2021 EU Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard), which the European Union produces every year. This is an improvement for Huawei since last year the company ranked third in the ranking.

This European Commission report, prepared by the EU Joint Research Center (JRC, Joint Research Center), ranks the research investment levels of 2,500 companies around the world. The investment of these large companies accounts for 90% of the R&D financed at the business level worldwide.

“Huawei ranks as the second largest private sector investor in research and development in the world. The European Commission’s Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard 2021 is recognized as one of the most authoritative global studies on private sector investment in research and development. International collaboration in these areas is essential to guarantee the development of innovative products and services ”, Tony Jin Yong, Huawei’s main representative to the EU institutions, has pointed out.

Much of Huawei’s global research takes place in Europe. The company created its first research center in Sweden in 2000. Today, Huawei employs more than 2,400 researchers in 23 research centers across the continent. Through a series of collaborations with more than 150 European universities, Huawei is deeply involved and integrated into the ICT research ecosystem in Europe. Through this collaborative project Huawei makes Europe ready for the digital age.

Huawei firmly believes that international collaboration in research strengthens the competitiveness of the EU and contributes to the mitigation of climate change, which represents a strategic support to the European Green Deal.
