Five people died on December 24 and 26. The victims are an elderly woman who suffered a spectacular fall, an announcer who died from choking and a 19-year-old young man who fainted while playing a soccer game and unfortunately arrived dead at the Carrión hospital in Huancayo. The five bodies were transferred to the Hualhuas morgue for the legal autopsy. Luisa Bendezú del Pino (89), tripped in a mailbox and fell to the floor. The elderly woman was helped by neighbors and police who arrived in San Carlos, but unfortunately they could not save her.
Another death occurred at 5:20 p.m. at the “Daniel Alcides Carrión” hospital, where Elmer Alviño Canchanya (19) was evacuated. The doctor on duty certified that a body arrived. Saddened, his father, Elmer Alviño Palián (49), told the police that his son became ill while playing soccer at the Cullhuas district stadium in Huancayo. The Sixth Criminal Prosecutor’s Office ordered that the body of the unfortunate young man be transferred to the morgue.
A third incident occurred at the intersection of Circunvalación Avenue and San Juan Passage, where police officers helped Raúl Travezaño Arteaga (75), who was suffocating. The well-known announcer was having dinner when he began to choke on his food. He was transferred to the Carrión hospital, where he was treated by doctor Iván Mari, who certified the death. Raúl Travezaño worked at Radio Andina.
The head of Reniec, Wilfredo Galíndez Zamora (48), who died when his vehicle overturned in Acostambo was also taken to the morgue. A fifth body entered the area of forensic medicine.
