Huancayo: Welder sentenced to 35 years in prison for sexual assault

Justice handed down 35 years of effective prison against Edson Paulo Mondalgo Dolorier (31), after the First Office of the Special Prosecutor’s Office in Violence Against Women and Members of the Family Group of Huancayo demonstrated its responsibility in a case of sexual violence against a minor under 13 years of age. The decision was issued by the Supraprovincial Criminal Court of Junín after evaluating the elements of conviction presented by the prosecutor in charge, Miguel Nelson Dionicio Santos.

The process included communications and coordinated meetings through messaging applications, as well as manipulation actions that the convicted person carried out to maintain contact with the teenager. These elements strengthened the prosecutor’s accusation, which pointed to a repeated pattern of improper rapprochement. Mondalgo Dolorier remained in preventive detention since June 2024.

The case was discovered when the minor’s father found inappropriate conversations on his son’s cell phone. Following the complaint, AREINCRI agents carried out an operation that allowed the accused to be arrested inside the teenager’s home, located in El Tambo. In addition to the prison sentence, the court ordered the payment of S/ 17 thousand for civil reparation.
