On the night of Monday, April 14, young people and teachers gathered in the Plaza de la Constitución de Huancayo to participate in an emotional vigil in memory of Lucía Gabriela Bravo López, a young university student found lifeless in Ayacucho. With candles, banners and messages of pain and indignation, his friends and colleagues from the continental university demanded justice.

Lucía Gabriela, a psychology student, was found lifeless in the Campanayocc sector, in the district of Carmen Alto, Ayacucho region. His body was wrapped in blankets and had a bullet impact on the chest. The main suspect of the crime is his ex -partner, Erasmus Aguilar Cordero (31), who had a current removal order.
“That Lucia’s death is not unpunished. Violence against women is not a game. Women are victims of those who once said to love them,” said one of the protesters during the vigil.

The director of the University’s Psychology career expressed his regret and pointed out that Lucia was an outstanding student and very close to completing his career. “Until last week he was in classes. This has shocked us deeply,” he said.
One of her companions also shared a few words in her memory: “Lucia was very cheerful, extroverted. We will remember her with love. We only ask for justice and that the person in charge paid for what she did.”
Meanwhile, the authorities continue with the search for Erasmo Aguilar Cordero, who is not. Lucia’s family and various feminist groups ask that the case not be unpunished and actually act.
