Hundreds of tourists who arrived from Lima in 18 interprovincial buses were hosted with a special ceremony in the Wanka terminal, in the province of Huancayo. The welcome included traditional hot drinks, tourist information and typical dances presentations, such as Huaylarsh, played by local casts with the musical accompaniment of the National Police Band of Peru (PNP).

The enthusiasm was immediate: many travelers joined the dance, surprised by the warmth of the reception. “It is exciting to be received with such joy. We plan to travel Huancayo, Jauja, Concepción and the central jungle these days,” said a Lima visitor.

Huancayo hopes to receive more than 75,000 visitors during Holy Week, with a varied agenda that includes 32 festive activities and 52 of a religious nature. Among the most prominent events are the National Huaylarsh contest (April 19 to 21), the Gastronomic Festival of Mantaro and the Artisanal and Agroindustrial Fair, consolidating the region as one of the main tourist destinations in the center of the country.
