Huancayo: Parents of IE 30020 protest at Ugel and ask for prefabricated classrooms

Parents of the educational institution No. 30020 in the district of Pucará, in the province of Huancayo, held a protest at the Ugel Huancayo, demanding prefabricated classrooms since the current facilities have been declared in emergency and uninhabitable for 7 years.

IE 30020 is 70 years old and provides early childhood and primary education services to approximately 198 students. Its infrastructure is made of rustic materials and it was declared in a state of emergency 7 years ago by the municipality, but it does not receive support for maintenance. Last year, due to the rains, it suffered a flood that weakened its infrastructure.

After the meeting with the director of Ugel Huancayo, Walter Ore Ramos, the director of the IE said that they agreed that he would help them manage the temporary transfer of the students to a rented space. In addition, they agreed to hold a meeting at the Regional Government of Junín on Thursday in order to request a budget from Governor Zósimo Cárdenas for the prefabricated classrooms and the construction of a new infrastructure.
