Huancayo: Municipal Council declares the Transit management in emergency for three months

The Traffic and Transportation Management of the municipality of Huancayo has been declared in administrative emergency, according to an agreement of the provincial council. This measure, which seeks to reorganize the area and improve its services, was approved in the last municipal session, where the area manager, Héctor Araujo, presented a report on the current state of management.

During his presentation, Araujo highlighted serious limitations in traffic lights, signage and administrative conditions. These shortcomings have led to an unsustainable situation that directly affects the quality of public transportation service in the province. In addition, he highlighted the lack of an adequate route plan, which has made it difficult to organize and organize the companies that provide this essential service.

The municipal manager, Joshelim Meza, highlighted that this administrative declaration will last three months: January, February and March. In this phase, a route plan and management documents necessary to improve the operation of the area will be prepared. The hiring of specialized personnel and a traffic light project that includes improvements in painting equipment and crane service are also contemplated.

To address this problem, an approximate investment of 1 million 400 thousand soles has been proposed. These funds will go toward the purchase of new traffic lights, a signaling machine, paint, and a van to improve area operations.

The proposal was the subject of an intense debate among the councilors, who finally approved the request with 12 votes in favor, although modifications were made to the original proposal to optimize administrative processes.

The declaration will not only allow the reorganization of management, but will also enable the use of additional resources that could add up to 600 thousand soles during the year 2025. This investment is aimed at strengthening critical services such as traffic lights and improving general traffic conditions. . in Huancayo.
