Huancayo: More than 50 people arrested for common danger in one week

Driving while intoxicated is considered a crime and the situation becomes more complicated if the driver causes a traffic accident. The offender must pay a fine and his license will be suspended or cancelled. Despite this, this week alone (Monday to Saturday), more than 50 drivers have been arrested for driving while intoxicated and have ended up detained at the Huancayo police station for the crime of common danger.

In different streets of Huancayo, Jhon Arias F. (27), who was driving the vehicle AEX-144; (27); Cristian Chuquillanqui V. (33), who was driving the motorcycle 3480-NW; David Gamarra J. (22), who was driving the motorcycle with license plate 7232-OW; Juan Rosario H. (22) of unit CKI-513 and others were stopped. “Many citizens drink liquor irresponsibly and get behind the wheel, potentially causing fatal accidents. For this reason, police personnel carry out operations and arrest offenders, removing irresponsible drivers from the streets.”said PNP Commander Frank Muñoz.

The Huancayo police chief also reported that more than 50 drivers were arrested for the crime of common danger, even between 9 and 11 in the morning. “Let’s be responsible if you’re going to drink at Santiago’s parties, leave your vehicles at home or in a garage“, the commissioner recommends.
