Merchants from Jirón Piura and Cajamarca held a protest at the Huancayo International Business Center to demand that the Christmas fair not be installed in these narrow streets, pointing out that the municipal decision will seriously affect their sales and will generate chaos in the area.

The protesters warned that the presence of more than 300 stalls will reduce the passability of vehicles and pedestrians, in addition to increasing the risks of insecurity on a road that already has saturation problems. For this reason, they asked the authorities to reconsider the measure and move the fair to larger spaces, as was done in previous years.

The protest took place hours before the start of registration for the 350 positions authorized by the Municipality of Huancayo, a process that comes amid questions.
