In May 2023, Antonio Arteaga Sullca (31), was saved from being lynched in the Saños Chico annex, after stealing from a house under construction; now he had to be evacuated to the Carrión hospital with a gunshot wound. The alleged thief, along with another subject, had snatched a cell phone and money from two young men who ran to ask a policewoman for help.

The agent who works at the El Tambo police station with security guards, went after the criminals to capture them, but in his eagerness to escape, Antonio Arteaga tried to take the gun from the agent and in the middle of the struggle, a bullet hit the criminal’s right hand.
It was during the integrated patrol of Av. Universitaria and Av. Ferrocarril in El Tambo, two 24-year-old young men reported that they were intercepted by two criminals who stole a cell phone, a wallet with documents and 200 soles.
The robbers fled, so the police personnel began the search, managing to locate the suspects, on Jr. Tahuantinsuyo and Jr. 9 de Octubre – El Tambo. At that place, Antonio Arteaga, tried to steal the firearm (pistol), from the female police officer, in the struggle, an involuntary shot occurred and a projectile hit the right hand (palm) of the intervened.

The injured man was taken to Carrión Hospital for the corresponding treatment. Antonio was then arrested for the alleged crime of aggravated robbery. The detainee has a history of complaints for the crime of aggravated armed robbery and aggravated theft; and he had been in prison for the same crimes. Meanwhile, the investigations of the case continue.
