For three hours the cow ‘Isabel’ remained trapped in the ditch, located at the intersection of Huancavelica Avenue and Jr. Tumbes, in the district of El Tambo, security guards and firefighters arrived at the scene to rescue the animal valued at more than 3,500 soles.

According to the owner, the cow was eating in the area when it slipped and fell into the ditch. The firefighters placed a harness and with the help of a crane managed to get the animal out.

Due to the lack of grass in the district of Pilcomayo, the owner took Isabel to the district of El Tambo for her to eat. Mr. Angel, the animal’s owner, thanked the efforts of the Huancayo firefighters and night watchmen. For his part, Arif Torres, departmental chief of the firefighters in Junín, stressed that everyone has the right to life, whether they are animals or people.
