Residents of the Rivera sector are asking for the construction of the Comuneros bridge in the Ribera sector, Huancayo province, to be halted because the diversion of the drainage system is eating away at the land and affecting the roads.

According to the residents, 12 meters of land have already been lost from the seawall, and the road is showing cracks, compromising the safety of nearby buildings, which is why they held a sit-in.

The problem has been present since January. They had a meeting with a representative of the Regional Government of Junín, Sedam and the Municipality of Huancayo, however, they did not reach an agreement.
