Huancayo: Couple and their four children are left homeless after a fire

In the Chilca Alta sector, Huancayo province, a rustic house caught fire and the family was left homeless. Firefighters controlled the flames and reported that they did not find any victims. The origin of the fire is still unknown.

Father Fredy Jesús Mendoza said that he went out to work, three of his children and his wife were out of the house and only the youngest, 17 years old, stayed. When he returned from work he found his house burning in flames.

The 17-year-old was not found at the scene of the fire, his father presumes that he escaped out of fear. In light of the fire, neighbours are calling for the area to be cleaned up because the lack of water made it difficult to put out the fire, and the fire department also had difficulty accessing the site.

The low-income family appealed to the mayor of the district of Chilca, César Damas, to provide support to them, as well as to the population since they were left on the street. Any financial support can be requested by calling 923225861 in the name of Isabel Ángela Espejo Mendoza.
