This Wednesday, the entity announced the launch of a new payment channel for its cards: the Google Pay digital wallet (GPAY), which will allow its customers to pay from an Android cell phone or a smart watch without the need to carry the physical card.
“You no longer have to get your card or mark keys. You just approach your cell phone or your smartwatch to the post and pay. It is faster and faster,” explains Jair Carhuallanqui, head of Huancayo Cash Services and Agreements. For the Executive, this functionality responds to the increasingly widespread use of mobile devices among Peruvians and seeks to facilitate daily payments. “Normally, one can forget the wallet, but almost never the cell phone,” he says.
The GPAY wallet adds to the alternate channels that already concentrate more than 70% of the transactions of the box, between mobile application, agents, cashiers and other digital platforms. With this, the entity seeks to continue migrating face -to -face services to digital formats.
In line with that vision, this Thursday Huancayo also activated the dynamic CVV for all its users, an additional security measure for online purchases. Instead of the static code printed on the physical card, now the client must enter the mobile app to obtain a code that changes every two minutes. “The dynamic CVV is another layer of protection. The idea is to minimize the risk in internet purchases and ensure that only the holder can complete the operation,” says Carhuallanqui.

But the institution’s digital road map goes beyond. In the first half of May the launch of the electronic promissory note is expected, a tool that will allow customers to signal the necessary document to disburse a loan, without having to go to an agency.
“The client may request the credit from his cell phone, be evaluated by an advisor and sign the promissory note from home. The validation will be done with facial recognition, in line with RENIEC, and will have full legal validity thanks to the cavali support,” explains the executive.
This system seeks to simplify the process of placing credits, which has traditionally required the physical presence of the client in an agency. Caja Huancayo has 238 agencies throughout the country, and although its sales force remains fundamental, the objective is to offer a more agile and safe experience through digital channels.
For his part, Daniel Lastra, Commercial Manager of Corporate Issues and Nuam added Value Services, said the cavali platform allows the document to be issued 100% virtually, making the most efficient and safe process. In addition, he indicated that he will allow Caja Huancayo to support the collection of resources in the capital market.

To close the year, the institution works on the development of a new version of its mobile application. According to Carhuallanqui, it will be a “super app” that will integrate transactional and commercial functionalities, allowing bank operations to the complete contracting of financial products. Its launch is scheduled for December.
“We want the client to have everything at their disposal from the cell phone, but without neglecting security. It is a comprehensive approach: simpler transactions and reinforced protection,” he says.
The digital transformation of Caja Huancayo, initiated from the second half of last year, aims to consolidate a fully digital ecosystem, in which the customer can operate, pay and access financial products from anywhere.
