The head of the National Penitentiary Institute (INPE), Javier Llaque Moya, announced that Huancavelica will have the most modern prison in Latin America, it will be built at 5 thousand meters high and will have 1,500 meters of facilities.

According to the details provided by Llaque Moya, the new prison will surpass Challapalca, one of the safest and most remote prisons in the country. The Huancavelica penitentiary center will have greater capacity to house more inmates, with state-of-the-art security, isolation and monitoring technology facilities.
