A 5.0 magnitude earthquake shook the province of Castrovirreyna in the Huancavelica region at 10:05 a.m. with a depth of 109 kilometers, according to a report from the National Seismological Center of the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP).

The epicenter was located 49 kilometers southeast of the town of Castrovirreyna, district and province of the same name, with an intensity of IV. So far, no material or personal damage has been reported.
