For the second consecutive year, representatives of Huancayo are positioned among the best in the country in the national contest “The Best Pisco Sour 2026”, held in Lima within the framework of the celebrations for National Pisco Sour Day.
In this edition, Jimy Dueñas Manrique, a student in the sixth cycle of Gastronomy at the Continental Institute, won second place in the professional category, competing with bartenders with extensive experience. The contest was organized by the Municipality of Santiago de Surco and brought together specialists from different regions of the country.
Dueñas participated representing Huayruro’s Bar, a company where he works in the cocktail industry, and was recognized for his technique, precision and creativity in the preparation of the emblematic Peruvian cocktail. The award was presented by Councilor Elizabeth Rodríguez during the official ceremony.
