The Police of the City of Buenos Aires used sticks, water thrown from hydrant trucks and tear gas to repress militants who had gathered near the home of Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in the Recoleta neighborhood to give him their support.

The incidents began after a group of protesters knocked down the fences that the head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, ordered to be placed near the department of the former president.

Police fired water from hydrant trucks, batoned and tear-gassed the crowd.

In addition, the journalist Ezequiel Guazzora was hit on the head by the action of the police officers and there were other people who had been injured.

The Buenos Aires deputy Matías Molle, the former provincial legislator Facundo Tignanelli and the Buenos Aires journalist and official Fabián “Conu” Rodríguez were also arrested by the City Police, according to the A24 channel.

But later, the Buenos Aires Police reported that all the detainees had been released, while the uniformed men withdrew from the place and the protesters managed to position themselves on Juncal Street, where a vigil had been set up since Monday night.
