How to vote in the presidential elections on June 28?

From locating your polling station to verifying your vote, here you will find step-by-step instructions on how to vote in the presidential elections on July 28


On July 28, the sixteenth presidential election will be held in Venezuela. This time, 10 candidates are competing for the highest office.

The current president, Nicolas Madurois seeking his second re-election and has the support of 13 political organizations reflected on the ballot. In contrast, Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutiarepresentative of the Unitary Platform (majority opposition), is running in three boxes.

Antonio Ecarri, Luis Eduardo Martinez, Claudio Fermin, Daniel Ceballos, Jose Brito, Benjamin Rausseo, Javier Bertucci and Enrique Marquez complete the list of options.

More than 21 million Venezuelans (21,392,464) are called to the polls and 69,211 Venezuelans abroad will be able to participate in the election through manual voting.

Step by step to exercise your right to vote

  • Find your polling station: Check the list of voters at the entrance to find out which polling station you should vote at.
  • Make the correct line: Locate yourself according to the last two numbers of your identity card.
  • Biometric identification: Present your ID to the fingerprint machine operator and follow the instructions to receive your ticket.
  • Registration at the polling station: With your ID and ticket, sign and put your fingerprint in the voting booklet.
  • Voting instructions: If you need help, the Electoral Board staff will assist you and activate the voting machine.
  • Candidate selection: Choose your preferred candidate and confirm your vote on the voting machine.
  • Voting voucher: Check, fold and insert your receipt into the safekeeping box.
