How to check which Sisbén group you are in?

He Sisben It is an essential tool to ensure that social programs effectively reach those who need them most in Colombia. Recently, the system was modernized and four main groups were established. How can citizens know which category they are in?

What are the main groups of Sisben?

1. Group A: Extreme poverty
Description: Population with lower income generating capacity.
Subgroups: A1 to A5 (5 subgroups).

2. Group B: Moderate poverty
Description: Population with greater capacity to generate income than group A.
Subgroups: B1 to B7 (7 subgroups).

3. Group C: Vulnerable

Description: Population at risk of falling into poverty.
Subgroups: C1 to C18 (18 subgroups).

4. Group D: Neither poor nor vulnerable
Description: Households that are not in poverty.
Subgroups: D1 to D21 (21 subgroups).

What are the 5 dimensions that Sisben takes into consideration?

-Housing and public services.

-Education.

-Health.

-Occupation and income.

-Sociodemographic background.

Based on this, it is determined which group each beneficiary should be in. The current methodology no longer uses a quantitative score, but rather organizes households into groups according to their living conditions and income.

What steps should I follow to know my classification?

1. Access the Sisbén website: Gonna www.sisben.gov.co or directly to the group consultation section.

2. Select the query option: In the top menu, click on “Check your Sisbén IV group”.

3. Enter your data: Provide your document type and number (Citizenship Card, Identity Card, etc.).

4. Click on ‘Consult’: Once the data has been entered, press the corresponding button to obtain the information.

5. Check your ranking: The system will show you which group (A, B, C or D) you are classified in, based on your living conditions and income.
