The Internal Revenue Service (SII) called on people without starting activities who will participate in Christmas Fairs to comply with the obligation to pay the VAT. To do this, it made available a digital tool that allows you to automatically calculate the corresponding tax, simplifying the process for those who carry out commercial activities sporadically.
The tool, called “Calculator for the Appraisal of Sporadic Activities”, is available on the SII website and is aimed at those who participate in occasional events such as trade fairs or exhibitions. Using this calculator, taxpayers must enter information about the event, such as projected sales, duration, and municipal permits. Once the calculation has been made and payment has been made, they will receive a digital certificate that certifies tax compliance and authorizes them to operate during the event.
The Deputy Director of Supervision of the IBSCarolina Saravia, highlighted the importance of this tool: “It is essential to comply with tax obligations, even in sporadic activities. This calculator is a practical solution for those who occasionally participate in fairs, facilitating the payment of VAT and promoting correct compliance with the law.”
Who can access?
The authorization for the Taxation of Sporadic Activities is available for people who do not carry out commercial activities on a regular basis and who do not exceed an initial capital of 25 UTM ($1,682,350 as of December). In addition, it is necessary to have municipal permits and a tax code to carry out the process online.
On the other hand, those who already have started activities before the IBS They must follow a different procedure. In this case, they must inform the organization about their participation in fairs and events through an administrative request, indicating the place and dates of the event.
With these initiatives, the IBS seeks to support entrepreneurs and occasional traders in the correct compliance with their tax obligations, promoting formalization and contributing to a more transparent and organized economy.
